LANFRANCO ESL Nut Double-Slot Self-Locking Structure & Principle

Different from nylon lock nuts, LANFRANCO ESL nuts rely on metal elastic deformation to realize thread locking, performing well in high temperature and strong vibration conditions.

Double-Slot Structure

Two symmetrical deformation slots are machined on the nut top. When tightened, the bolt squeezes the elastic petals to slightly shrink the bore and grip the thread tightly.

Locking Process

  1. screwing in: Normal rotation with basic resistance
  2. Locking: Elastic petals are squeezed to generate clamping force
  3. Static locking: High friction prevents free rotation
  4. Anti-vibration: Elastic structure maintains pre-tightening force continuously
