Fastener Export Inspection Checklist

Export fastener orders usually require pre-shipment inspection covering dimensions, appearance, mechanical properties, coating and packaging. Defining standards upfront avoids port disputes.

Dimensions and Appearance

Sample thread go/no-go gauges, across-flats, head diameter, length and thread length. Check cracks, burrs, rust, plating color and mixed material. AQL 2.5 is common.

Mechanical and Coating

Sample hardness, tensile and proof load by batch; coating thickness and salt-spray sampling. Stainless needs spectral material verification; high-strength bolts need baking confirmation.

Packaging and Documents

Verify per-box quantity, net/gross weight, shipping marks and carton numbers. Check packing list, material certs and test reports; confirm marks match the order.
