Storage and Anti-Rust Maintenance Specification for Imported High-Grade Fasteners

Imported high-end fasteners are mostly made of alloy steel and special stainless steel. Improper storage easily leads to rust and hydrogen embrittlement, resulting in mass scrapping. Standard maintenance rules are sorted according to original factory packaging requirements.

1. Warehouse Environment Control

Keep warehouse temperature between 15℃ and 26℃, relative humidity from 40% to 60%. Install dehumidifier in rainy season to avoid surface oxidation and pitting corrosion caused by excessive moisture.

2. Original Packaging Management

Keep original vacuum package and desiccant intact for unused goods. Seal leftover fasteners with moisture-proof PE bags once opened. Never pile high-strength alloy steel bare on damp ground.

3. Anti-Rust Grease Application

Use thin anti-rust oil for short-term indoor storage and hard film oil for storage over six months. Clean surface dirt before supplementary coating to avoid excess grease blocking threads.

4. Classified Storage Rule

Store alloy steel and stainless steel separately to prevent galvanic corrosion. Follow FIFO principle to reduce long-term stock deterioration risk.
