Cross-border Packaging and Commodity Inspection Compliance Specification For Export Fasteners, Matching Customs Inspection Standards Of EU & Southeast Asia

Customs inspection intensity for hardware export packaging is increasing year by year. Missing IPPC fumigation marks on wooden packages, lack of anti-rust desiccants inside, and missing material/batch information on outer labels will directly lead to full-container detention and return. Customs implementation standards vary greatly in different regions: the EU strictly controls solid wood fumigation and halogen-free packaging; Southeast Asia focuses on moisture & rust resistance and clear English marks. This article unifies full-set packaging compliance standards for four mainstream export fastener categories.

1. Compliance Comparison Of Three Types Of Export Packaging Materials

Packaging Material Mandatory Requirement For EU Export Mandatory Requirement For Southeast Asia Export Applicable Products
Solid Wood Crate IPPC fumigation brand + fumigation certificate Complete fumigation marks Bulk heavy-duty high tensile bolts
Thick Corrugated Carton Labels printed with halogen-free ink Built-in long-acting anti-rust desiccant Conventional stainless steel standard parts
Anti-static Plastic Box RoHS halogen-free test report attached with goods Sealed moisture-proof inner film Medical & electronic micro screws

2. Standardized Packaging Process For Export Fasteners

1. Inner bag sealing: Independent packaging with anti-rust oil film / vapor phase anti-rust bag, each bag attached with corresponding batch barcode; 2. Moisture-proof filling: Put sufficient desiccant according to packaging volume to avoid rust caused by high humidity during sea transportation; 3. Outer box marking: Print English product name, material, batch, net weight, country of origin and certification number; 4. Wooden packaging treatment: Solid wood must complete full IPPC fumigation, plywood does not need fumigation; 5. Supporting documents: Fumigation certificate, material report and environmental certificate are stored separately corresponding to each container.

3. Rectification Plan For Goods Detained Due To Non-compliant Packaging

1. Wooden crate without IPPC mark: Re-fumigate on site and issue new fumigation certificate for customs release; 2. No moisture & rust protection treatment: Unpack and repack with anti-rust bags and desiccants, all port detention fees borne by factory; 3. Missing label information: Print compliant English labels on site and re-paste for customs verification.
