Non-Structural Breakstem Fasteners

Non-structural breakstem fasteners are suitable for a wide range of general engineering applications.

Structural Breakstem Fasteners

For structural breakstem fasteners, the stem remains within the shear plane; when combined with a locking stem, the rivets achieve high shear strength. They are suitable for applications subject to high stress or dynamic loading.

Locking Bolts

Speed Fasteners

Threaded Inserts, etc.

avdel provides solutions for many of the world's leading companies, covering multiple industries such as automotive, electronics, construction, and home appliances. avdel® engineers will continue to collaborate to develop innovative solutions, ensuring that customers can always meet the needs of a constantly changing world.

avdel® is a market leader in tool bodies utilizing advanced injection molding technology. These tool bodies are made of impact-resistant fiber-reinforced grade nylon and feature a "soft grip" contact function for comfortable operation. avdel® tools are renowned for their ergonomic and safety advantages.

Customer needs are always at the forefront of the organization's business acumen. New product designs incorporate feedback from advanced market and customer demand analysis. The market and customer-driven approach to product design at Avdel is evident in features such as the quick-nose device on the Genesis® nG series placement tools—this helps minimize service time. Additionally, the ePower battery tools not only offer freedom of movement (eliminating the need for hoses and cables) but also include a patented traction system for more efficient operation, resulting in longer cycles per battery charge.

The history of the Avdel® brand dates back over 70 years. The name is derived from "Aviation Development." Founded in 1936, the company originally manufactured a unique range of Speed Fasteners for the emerging aviation industry.

During that period, aircraft manufacturing shifted from metal-and-wood structures to all-metal constructions—such as the world-famous Spitfire fighter plane. This transition demanded a new generation of fasteners and tools that could be installed from one side of the component, replacing traditional rivets. The Chobert® SpeedFastening® system was developed to meet these needs and is still widely used worldwide today.

A feature in the August 5, 1936 issue of The Airplane magazine—titled "Quick-Firing Rivets"—included coverage of the Chobert® system.

By the 1950s, the company had been committed to delivering new value-added assembly solutions. This "systematic" approach created greater optimization and provided customers with a single source for reliable fasteners and installation equipment.

In 1961, the company was renamed "Avdel®" and achieved significant growth over the next two decades, becoming one of the world's largest manufacturers of blind fasteners and installation tools. The expansion of the Avdel® Group was most prominent in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, with the establishment of several new facilities across Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region. Meanwhile, a network of authorized distributors and licensees in over 40 countries helped ensure a truly global reach. An advertisement in the September 1949 issue of Aircraft Production featured the Chobert® system and Pip pins.

In recent years, market trends toward new materials for components—such as composites, high-strength thin-gauge steel, and die-cast magnesium—have presented new challenges for fastener manufacturers. Avdel® has remained at the forefront of new product development to meet these evolving market needs. During this period, fasteners such as the Versa-Nut® threaded inserts, Maxlok® locking bolts, Rivscrew® PL, Klamp-Tite®, Bulbex®, and Avinox® rivets were all developed as fastening solutions for the changing market.

By combining the latest engineering and design technologies with 70 years of market experience, the Avdel® Group can support customers' assembly requirements from the earliest stages of new product design. Leveraging the expertise of our engineers and the advanced testing capabilities of our facilities, laboratories, and workshops, Avdel® is able to utilize cutting-edge finite element analysis and modern design techniques to develop tailored solutions for our customers.
